As part of the organization’s structure, CASH uses standing committees. These committees are advisory in nature and convey information to the Board of Directors and staff on important issues.

Annual Conference Planning Committee – Jeff Becker, Chair
The purpose of the Annual Conference Planning Committee is to develop and coordinate topics, speakers and activities for the Annual Conference. The Committee also plans all other aspects of the conference such as Keynote Speaker, Golf Tournament, quality control for workshops, etc. The Committee meets seven times a year in the following months: March through August, and January. Architects Committee – Kevin Fleming, Chair
The CASH Architects meet at the Annual and Fall Conferences to discuss issues of interest to school architects. Participation is open to all CASH member architects. For more information, please contact Tom Duffy.
Budget Committee – Dwayne Mears, Chair
The purpose of the Budget Committee is to prepare CASH’s annual budgets for approval by the Chair and Board of Directors. The Committee Chair is the Treasurer and serves at the pleasure of the Board. The Committee consists of sitting Board members. For more information, please contact Greg Golik.
Environmental Committee – Dwayne Mears, Chair
The purpose of the Environmental Committee is to focus on matters related to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), air quality, mitigation issues, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), storm water and other environmental issues related to the outside of the school building. Legal Advisory Committee – Alan Reising, Chair
The Legal Advisory Committee consists of attorneys that focus on school facility issues and litigation. The Committee provides assistance to the Board of Directors on issues upon request; exchanges information on emerging trends in school facility construction law; and serves as a resource for ideas and speakers available for CASH programs. Legislative Advisory Committee – Rob Pierce, Chair
The purpose of the Legislative Advisory Committee is to provide the Board of Directors with an annual draft legislative platform and to recommend action/positions on existing or pending legislation. The Committee traditionally meets six times a year. The Committee consists of CASH members appointed by the Nominating Committee. For more information, please contact Tom Duffy
Maintenance Network – Joe Dixon and Alex Parslow, Co-Chairs
The Maintenance Network was formed to address the needs of the school maintenance community. Activities of the CASH Maintenance Network include providing timely updates on legislation and budget proposals of interest to the school maintenance community; conducting regional meetings and workshops to address maintenance specific issues; and assisting in the development of the maintenance strand of workshops and roundtables at the Annual Conference. Workshops are held annually (usually in the Fall) in the Northern, Central, and Southern parts of the state. There is an additional fee for membership in the Maintenance Network. Membership Committee – Darrin Watters, Chair
The Membership Committee has the charge of membership recruitment and retention. This Committee meets as needed to review membership trends and areas of marketing for membership outreach. Participation is open to all CASH members. For more information, please contact Greg Golik or Melissa Barton
Nominating Committee – Don Ulrich, Chair
The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to annually review sitting Board member terms, obtain continued commitment from those members, and fill any vacancies through a nomination and Board approval process. The Nominating Committee also solicits nominations for the Legislative Advisory Committee and presents those names to the Board of Directors for approval. The Nominating Committee is made up of three members: at least two are Past Chairs and one sitting Board member. For more information, please contact Greg Golik.

School Bond Finance Committee – Julie Arthur, Jeff Becker and Don Ulrich, Co-Chairs
The purpose of the School Bond Finance Committee is to provide leadership in securing contributions for statewide school bonds. This Committee meets as needed. Participation is open to all CASH members. For more information, please contact Dave Walrath, Greg Golik or Aileen Dalen.
Small School Districts Committee – Jeff Becker and Julie Boesch, Co-Chairs
The Small School Districts Committee provides information regarding school facility issues affecting small districts. This committee meets during the CASH Annual Conference and as needed throughout the year. Representatives from CASH member small districts are invited and encouraged to attend. Urban School Districts Committee – Tova Corman, Chair
The Urban School Districts Committee is comprised of urban school districts and others who are interested in urban school facility issues. The Committee’s mission is to facilitate a forum for urban school facility professionals to discuss ideas and share information. The Committee meets as needed, usually on CASH/SAB meeting day.
