2020 State School Bond Polling
The work continues to pass Assembly Bill 48, the Kindergarten through Community Colleges Public Education Facilities Bond Acts of 2020 and 2022. The bill is currently in the Assembly Appropriations Committee and will likely pass the Committee by the end of May.
Polling conducted on behalf of the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH) this Spring indicates strong support among likely voters for a statewide, K-12/community college facilities bond in the March 2020 Primary Election.
A solid majority think that schools have a great need for funding. Among likely March 2020 Primary Election voters, more were willing to support a $9 billion bond after hearing potential campaign messages.
Preparing students for jobs, access to affordable college education, and student safety resonate strongly with voters as reasons to vote in favor of a bond.
