Do you know all of your liabilities, and your protections, as the owner, design professional, or contractor of a public school facility new construction or modernization project? Revised laws and regulations may have impacted what you think you know. This workshop will provide information from a wide spectrum of entities involved in the school construction process about the laws and regulations regarding each entity’s liabilities, responsibilities, and protections.

Local Educational Agencies, attorneys, architects, contractors, and others will discuss from their perspective public works contracting and bidding issues, including, but not limited to:

• Indemnification

• Responsibility, and liability in providing complete and accurate architectural and engineering plans and specs (although AB 983 was vetoed, the concepts are ripe for discussion)

• State agency check points

• Construction performance bonds

• Field Act personal liability

• Stop work issues

• Warranties

• Multi-prime issues

• And more
