C.A.S.H. 34th Annual Conference on School Facilities


February 25-27, 2013 

Sacramento Convention Center and Hyatt Regency

This year’s conference will focus on the various efforts to re-envision the School Facility Program (SFP), as well as efforts to support a statewide school bond in 2014. This year’s conference will provide information about the status and implications of new laws and regulations, planning and fiscal management, the status of school maintenance funding and programs, and the latest industry trends. It will also provide a venue for fun and invaluable networking opportunities for school facility professionals to share their successes and continued struggles during these continued tough economic times.


Under the leadership of Joe Dixon, Chair of the C.A.S.H. Annual Conference Planning Committee and incoming C.A.S.H. Chair, the Committee has developed a comprehensive series of topics and experts in their fields which will provide attendees with a wide range of choices to get up-to-date on a familiar topic or get up-to-speed on a hot topic that you would like to know more about. As always, our conference provides attendees with ample opportunities to share professional information with your colleagues, and to network with key state agency representatives, legislative staff and other policy leaders.


Here are the highlights:

Lower Fees continue: As started with the 2011 conference, the rollback in fees will stay in place for both public and private sector members. C.A.S.H. leadership feels it is helpful to our members to continue the reduced fees while the economic environment remains uncertain. Fees for public sector members will continue at 2006 prices. Fees for private sector members continue to stay under $1,000. Even with the continued reduction in fees, C.A.S.H. will provide the top-quality content and first-class conference to which conference attendees have been accustomed.

Monday – Wednesday Format: With the success of the new condensed format and understanding everyone’s time is limited, the conference will continue to be a three-day conference. The content on Monday will prove to be educational and entertaining. Be sure to arrive in time to attend workshops such as School Construction 101, What You and C.A.S.H. Can Do for Each Other, and much more. On Monday, we will continue with the ever so popular M&O Technology and Demonstration Fair, a hands-on maintenance technology session for all attending maintenance directors.


Clinics: This year’s conference offers six clinics designed to be in-depth, hands-on learning sessions where attendees will acquire information they can put into immediate use in their districts and businesses.


Roundtables: Roundtable discussions are designed to offer an exchange of ideas in small, informal settings. With over 20 roundtable topics, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with experts on a wide variety of issues related to school construction.


Workshops: Over 35 workshops on school construction, fiscal management, architecture, high performance, maintenance and operations, state agencies, and planning and programming issues will be presented.


Expanded Trade Show: The Trade Show is open during the Welcome Reception on Monday, February 25 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. We will have break services and an after-lunch dessert in the exhibit hall on Tuesday, February 26.
