ABOUT THE POSITION

The Executive Director, Facilities Planning & Development reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services and is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering a comprehensive facilities planning and development program including improvement, modification and construction of facilities. This position manages and evaluates the work of lower level managers, supervisors and facilities personnel in conformance with appropriate policies and procedures. The Executive Director oversees the administration of a variety of projects and special programs related to the District’s facilities plan.

THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Palm Springs Unified School District is located in the Coachella Valley, which is in Riverside County, the fastest growing county in California. Not only is the District recognized for its continued growth, it is also commonly acknowledged for its outstanding facilities. With an enrollment of over 24,000 students the District currently has 23 schools. The District recently passed Measure E, a $516 million Bond authorization. Travis Unified School District Assistant Superintendent, Business and Operations

Salary Range: $100,334 to $120,883

Opportunity Description: The Travis Unified School District is seeking an outstanding Assistant Superintendent, Business and Operations.

Under the direction of the Superintendent, this cabinet-level position will serve as the District’s chief business officer; organize, manage, and direct the Department of Business Services; serve as the administrative head of the Department of Fiscal Operations; plan, organize, coordinate, and manage all areas of finance including budgeting, auditing, and financial planning requirements of the District; oversee the Departments of Food Services, Purchasing, Warehouse, Maintenance, Custodial and Grounds, and Transportation; serve as the District’s facilities planner; and other related functions as directed.

This senior management, cabinet-level position works under the administrative direction of the Superintendent. The New Haven Unified School District serves approximately 13,000 kindergarten through 12th-grade students at 12 schools in Union City and south Hayward, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The District also serves approximately 2,500 students at the New Haven Adult School. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Chief Business Officer assumes complete responsibility for the administration of the District’s business division. This position is responsible for the District’s transportation, food services, and maintenance and operations programs, and school housing and facilities. The ideal candidate will have the proven ability to lead a district through new construction and modernization projects, manage District finances and resources in a responsible and prudent manner, and interact with and support parent and community groups.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $115,000

Opportunity Description: The Byron Union School District is seeking an outstanding Chief Business Official who is a strong leader committed to the further attainment of excellence in its schools.


The Chief Business Official shall be directly responsible to the District Superintendent for all matters related to the District’s fiscal and business affairs and shall serve as chief assistant and advisor to the Superintendent in all matters related to the Chief Business Official’s areas of responsibility.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and fiscal procedures; laws, regulations, and procedures applying to school district accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principals; financial reporting, maintenance/operations, food services, and transportation; principals, procedures, and legal requirements of school district purchasing; data processing operations and accounting records; cost accounting and the application of school accounting; basic financial analysis and research procedures; Risk Management and Collective Bargaining.
