C.A.S.H. Membership Talking Points
- The California's Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) is the premier statewide organization which promotes, develops and supports state and local funding for K-12 construction, maintenance and maintenance.
- C.A.S.H. members include over 1,500 school districts, county offices and private sector businesses including architects, attorneys, consultants, construction managers, financial institutions, modular building manufacturers, contractors, developers, and others that are in the school facilities industry.
- C.A.S.H. advocates for funding to build, modernize, and maintain K-12 public schools in California. C.A.S.H. also works closely with partners on federal advocacy, legislative and regulatory issues.
- Since 1982, C.A.S.H. has sponsored or supported over $52 billion in statewide school bonds to help build, modernize and maintain thousands of schools.
- C.A.S.H. has very close working relationships with the Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), Division of the State Architect (DSA), California Department of Education/School Facilities Planning Division (CDE/SFPD), and Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) - the primary state agency partners that are critical to your success in school facilities.
- C.A.S.H. represents the voice of the educational communities before the State Allocation Board (SAB). C.A.S.H. is a charter member of the SAB's Implementation Committee and continues to serve in that role.
- C.A.S.H. provides numerous networking and training opportunities through its
monthly membership meetings in Sacramento,
annual conference in late February, which includes quality educational sessions and a trade show also in Sacramento, a fall conference in October, and educational workshops and webinars throughout the year.
- The C.A.S.H. Maintenance Network provides specialized training, leadership opportunities, and advocacy on a myriad of maintenance issues.
- C.A.S.H. builds future leaders through its School Facilities Leadership Academy – a year-long rigorous program that provides professional training in areas including modernization, new construction, and maintenance of public schools.
- C.A.S.H. offers opportunities to all its members to participate in various committees such as the Legislative Advisory Committee and Annual Planning Committee.
