Elk Grove Unified School District
“Funding Model 2000
for
Furniture and Equipment Standards”
These spreadsheets, created in Microsoft Excel and converted to Adobe Acrobat® PDF files, are the Furniture and Equipment Standards for Elementary, Middle and High Schools as well as a Portables standard. They are named, respectively:
1. Elementary F&E Standards Model (pdf)
2. Middle F&E Standards Model (pdf)
3. High F&E Standards Model (pdf)
4. Portables F&E Standards (pdf)
5. Funding Model Presentation (pdf)
To view these spreadsheets, the Adobe Acrobat® Reader™, Version 4.0 application must be installed on your computer.
The existence of the program can be easily verified by double-clicking the left mouse button on the desired .pdf file. If, after a short time, a readable table of data appears on the screen, the Adobe Acrobat® Reader™ application is installed.
If double-clicking the desired .pdf file results in an error message, double-click on the file called “ar405eng.exe” and follow the prompts. This will install the Adobe Acrobat® Reader™ application.
The Adobe Acrobat® Reader™ help functions are very comprehensive but a few basic instructions regarding document navigation might be helpful.
The initial screen will show, primarily, two windows. The window on the right will be the actual pages of the F&E Standards document. The window on the left will be a type of interactive table-of-contents called Bookmarks. Selecting the “Assumptions and Parameters” topic from the left window, for instance, will display the Assumptions and Parameters page of the document in the right window.
Next to many of the bookmarks are small boxes with either a “+” or “-” sign in them. A “+” in the box indicates that there are additional “sub-topics” in that particular “topic”. Clicking the mouse pointer on that small box will expand the list and change the “+” symbol to a “-” symbol. Conversely, clicking on the small box which has the “-” symbol within, will collapse the display of that topic.
Adobe Acrobat® Reader™ is a freely distributed program with no license restrictions. A full description of this and other Adobe products can be found on the following web-site:
