Today, the Californians for Quality Schools campaign announced that the Community College League of California has endorsed the Kindergarten Through Community College Public Education Facilities Bond Act of 2016. The measure, a $9 billion state school facilities bond to adequately fund school construction and modernization projects throughout the state, will appear on the November 2016 ballot.
“As our economy grows stronger, community colleges are enrolling more students as they embark on both traditional and nontraditional educational pathways,” said Dr. Larry Galizio, President and CEO of the Community College League of California. “By passing the school bond, we are ensuring community colleges have the facilities necessary to adequately serve students as they take courses needed to fulfill a four-year degree requirement, as well as workforce development or career technical programs.”
